How to set up TVNADO on a Fire TV Stick, smart TV, phone or computer

Short answer: install a player app on your device, open it, and type in the login we send you. On most devices that takes a few minutes. The steps below cover each common device, and the last section fixes the problems that trip people up.

What you need before you start

• Your login from us: a username, a password and a server address, or a playlist link.
• A device connected to the internet.
• The right player app for that device. The apps page lists which one to use where.

Amazon Fire TV Stick

1. From the home screen, search for Downloader and install it.
2. Go to Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer options, and allow Install unknown apps for Downloader. If you do not see Developer options, open About and click your device name seven times to show it.
3. Open Downloader and enter the download address for the player app. We send it with your login.
4. Install the player, open it, and choose the option to add a playlist with a username and password (often labelled Xtream Codes).
5. Type your details exactly as we sent them and save. Channels load after a moment.

Android TV and Google TV

1. Open the Google Play Store on the TV and install TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro.
2. Open the app and choose to add a playlist or log in with Xtream Codes.
3. Enter the username, password and server address, then save.

Samsung and LG smart TVs

1. Open your TV's app store and search for IBO Player or Smart STB.
2. Install and open the app. It shows a MAC address or device key on screen.
3. Send us a photo of that screen on WhatsApp. We connect your login to the app, then you restart it and your channels appear.

iPhone, iPad and Apple TV

1. Install IPTV Smarters Pro or GSE Smart IPTV from the App Store.
2. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API.
3. Give the playlist any name, enter your username, password and server address, and tap Add user.

Android phones and tablets

1. Install IPTV Smarters Pro from the Google Play Store.
2. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API and enter your details.

Windows PC and Mac

The simplest option is VLC, which is free. Open VLC, choose Media then Open Network Stream (on a Mac, File then Open Network), and paste the playlist link we send you. For a TV-guide style layout, use IPTV Smarters Pro instead.

MAG boxes

Send us the MAC address printed on the label under the box. We set it up on our side and send you the portal address to enter in the box's settings.

The three problems behind almost every failed setup

"Invalid login" or "Authorization failed"

Nearly always a typing mistake. Check the server address first, including whether it starts with http:// and whether it ends with a port number such as :8080. Usernames and passwords are case sensitive, and a space copied at the end of either will break them.

Buffering or freezing

If every channel buffers, the cause is usually the connection between your router and the device, not the service. Try a network cable if your device has a port, move the router out of a cupboard, and use the 5GHz Wi-Fi band if you are in the same room. If only one channel buffers and the rest are fine, tell us which one and when.

"Maximum connections reached"

Your plan allows a set number of screens at the same time. Close the app on any other device, wait a minute, and try again. If you often need more, a 2- or 3-screen plan fixes it.
